Sturdy new vessel to clean Shetland nets
Shetland net cleaner Aurora Marine has signed a contract with Norwegian shipyard Viknaslipen for a new 15m by 7m net cleaning vessel.
The firm’s Colin Leask returned recently from Rorvik after finalising the plans and said he went back to the Norwegian yard after being impressed by the ‘first class workmanship’ of their last vessel, Aurora. The new version, designed by Marin Design, is single hulled and will be two and a quarter times heavier. It is due for delivery in May 2016.
