Middle East focus on new markets

THE Middle East and Central Asia Aquacultur­e Conference (MECAA15) is being staged in Tehran next month.

With the theme ’Tapping New Markets in Aquacultur­e’, the Asian Pacific Aquacultur­e 2015 event is the annual meeting of the Asian Pacific Chapter of the World Aquacultur­e Society.

The Middle East Aquacultur­e forum is the second of its kind in the region and focuses on industry presentati­ons. The Internatio­nal Shrimp Symposium 2015 will be held at the same time, and there will be a focus on offshore maricultur­e, among other things.

The conference, from December 14-16, also includes an Internatio­nal Aquacultur­e Exhibition and is hosted by the Iranian Fisheries Research Institute.

There will be four workshops: one on cage culture, organised by Badinotti; another on shrimp culture Workshop; and separate workshops on trout and sturgeon.
