Marine Harvest to resume exports to China
MARINE Harvest is to resume exports to China in the first or second quarter of 2017 following the normalisation of trade between the countries, according to Reuters.
CEO Alf-Helge Aarskog said: ‘It’s a market with great potential, so we have high hopes for China.’
He forecast that global salmon supply would rise by about three per cent in 2017, and noted that the price of Norwegian farmed salmon hasn’t hit an upper limit, despite the surges seen in 2016.
Shares in Marine Harvest rose as much as 2.3 per cent in December, a 13-year high.
