LOSSIE Seafoods, based in Buckie, and part of As­so­ci­ated Seafoods Ltd (ASL), has am­bi­tious growth plans, cre­at­ing 50 new jobs in the last year, with hopes of more to fol­low as pro­duc­tion in­creases.

The com­pany, which spe­cialises in the sale of qual­ity seafood in­clud­ing pre­mium Scot­tish smoked salmon un­der the brand ‘Pride of Scot­land’, is look­ing to de­velop its ex­ports around the globe.

Vic­tor West, man- ag­ing di­rec­tor of ASL, said: ‘Our goal is to pro­duce the finest qual­ity Scot­tish seafood for cus­tomers around the world, and re­ally put Scot­land and its prod­ucts on to the map.

‘Lossie Seafoods was founded over 100 years ago, and we still use smok­ing and cur­ing tech­niques de­vel­oped over the gen­er­a­tions.

‘Our ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence makes us stand out in the mar­ket, and our fo­cus on qual­ity has seen Lossie Seafoods win many awards for its pro­duce.’

Eileen Tocher, re­la­tion­ship di­rec­tor at the Royal Bank of Scot­land, said: ‘Vic­tor and the team at Lossie Seafoods sup­ply the high­est qual­ity prod­ucts pos­si­ble, which is open­ing up op­por­tu­ni­ties for the busi­ness, both na­tion­ally and abroad.

‘The com­pany has ex­panded at a rapid rate in the last few years, thanks to the team’s am­bi­tious growth plans and their ded­i­ca­tion.’
