Man­ager marks 30 years

MOWI Scot­land sea­wa­ter man­ager David MacGillivr­ay marked 30 years with the com­pany last month. He was pre­sented with his long ser­vice award by Mowi farm­ing op­er­a­tions direc­tor Gideon Pringle, at the com­pany’s Fort Wil­liam head­quar­ters.

MacGillivr­ay (nick­named ‘Bodger’ by his col­leagues) started work­ing for Mowi, in April 1989 as a farm as­sis­tant at Kin­gair­loch. He was pro­moted to as­sis­tant farm man­ager at Gorsten in1995, and be­came man­ager of the farm five years later.

His next move was to Uist, in 2005, where he was ap­pointed area man­ager, and in 2007 he was made area man­ager for South, be­fore his cur­rent ap­point­ment in 2016.

Last year, MacGillivr­ay won the in­no­va­tion award at the Scot­tish Ma­rine Aqua­cul­ture Awards for de­vel­op­ing en­vi­ronets for cir­cu­lar pens,.
