MAREL is staging one of its popular ‘show hows’ at its Copenhagan demonstrat­ion facility in February to highlight advances in the processing sector.

Hundreds of salmon

processors from around the world are expected to attend the event, which will feature demonstrat­ions, guest speakers and seminars.

The demonstrat­ions of integrated solutions, standalone equipment and food processing software will run in a simulated factory environmen­t with real product.

The focus will be on showing visitors how Marel can help them increase yield, improve the utilisatio­n of raw materials and enable full traceabili­ty.

Guests will also have the opportunit­y to walk through simulation­s of hi-tech processing facilities in virtual reality.

The Icelandic company said at a time of accelerate­d change in food processing methods, salmon producers are keen to stay informed about new technologi­es and proven solutions and its Salmon Show How provides this opportunit­y in a hands-on, practical way.

The speaker and seminar agenda will be announced closer to the date.

At the 2019 event, Norwegian bank DNB’s senior analyst, Dag Sletmo, looked at some of the ways digitalisa­tion is driving the salmon industry forward.

And SalmonChil­e president Arturo Clément presented insights into how Chilean salmon producers are using the latest advances to face challenges and secure their competitiv­e position.

The event, to be held on February 5, will conclude with dinner and entertainm­ent in the evening.
