Mowi Scotland makes radio waves

-

SCOTLAND’S biggest salmon farmer has helped fund a live music studio for the west coast radio station Nevis Radio.

The MOWI Live Lounge was launched with local singer songwriter Keir Gibson the first act to play on air.

Representatives from Mowi Scotland and members of the community were welcomed into the Nevis Radio studios in Fort William to celebrate the inaugural live broadcast.

Nevis Radio approached Mowi earlier this year to help fund a dream – to be able to broadcast, record and engineer high quality live music in their studios and out on location.

The Live Lounge Project took shape over the next few months, with Mowi agreeing to a four-year sponsorship.

Jayne MacKay of Mowi said the company was delighted to support the project. All the work to construct and re-wire the studio and hang the soundproof material was conducted in-house by the Nevis Radio team.
