Keele Univer­sity car­ried out a meta-anal­y­sis of stud­ies and found that mar­ried cou­ples have a lower risk of heart dis­ease and stroke than sin­gle, di­vorced or wid­owed peo­ple. The ef­fect may be due to the en­hanced well­be­ing of hav­ing a part­ner.
