Chil­dren raised by con­trol­ling par­ents have poorer con­trol over their emo­tions and worse so­cial skills than those raised in a more re­laxed man­ner, at team at the Univer­sity of Min­nesota has found. Kids used to do­ing things for them­selves are bet­ter at ad­just­ing to the chang­ing de­mands of the class­room, they say.
