Banknote flower

We had a good laugh about the idea that Australian banknotes portrayed the coronavirus [ FT394:5, 399:68]. It’s actually a stylised picture of a wattle bloom, the Australian national flower. As Monty Python said: “This here’s the wattle, the emblem of our land. You can stick it in a bottle, or hold it in your hand.”
