This shadow resembling a hanged man can be seen at midday opposite a spot called “Dead Man’s Cross” on the A379 where Milton Lane meets Waterpool Road in Dartmouth, Devon. According to local historians, the name “Dead Man’s Cross” identifies the spot where criminals were hanged in the 15th century and left in chains to act as a deterrent. The photograph was sent to Fortean Towers by Steve Wates.
