A Soupçon of France in the UK

France - - BIENVENUE - Lara Dunn Editor

For many of us, the short days and long dark nights of January are something to be battled from within a warm dressing-gown and a comfy chair, hopefully clutching the latest issue of FRANCE Magazine! It’s a time for delicious food, hot drinks and planning the escapes of the year ahead. For us in the office, it is a time of excitement and anticipation too, as we all look forward to The France Show at Olympia in London. It is the perfect opportunity for us to meet you - the readers who make our job so rewarding. Look out for more information on our Meet the Team sessions on social media closer to the time. Not only do we get to chat to you, we also get to indulge a little ourselves, with the excellent French food, wine and entertainment taking place across all three days. Do come along and join us for un petit verre!

In the meantime, we hope you love this issue of the magazine, packed with inspiration for things to see and do in the weeks and months ahead. The Loire Valley looks like the place to visit in 2019, as it celebrates 500 years of the Renaissance, and Le Mans shows it is more than just a city for car enthusiasts. The allure of Paris is timeless and enduring, and our guide to brilliant places to stay for all budgets might just give you an itchy passport. There’s also enough food, drink, history, language and cultural content to make that comfy chair feel extra troublesome to leave.

The lovely FRANCE Calendar 2019 is now available to buy too, perfect as a last-minute Christmas treat for the Francophile in your life. Turn to page 50 for details. À bientôt!
