Bible can help guide us through this life
Some may wonder and worry why, no matter what attempts are made in various forms, things continue to go from bad to worse and then we might even resort to thinking “we have to just accept it and live with it”.
The Bible, that very old book that may seem out of date and not applicable now, is full of prophecy and helpful advice and wisdom that helps us get through every day if we apply it. It foretold what conditions would be like in the last days at 2 Timothy 3:1-5. Please look up these verses and you will immediately relate to what we are seeing each day.
Social media has its benefits of course but can desensitise us and have a detrimental effect on our mental wellbeing. We watch TV, go to the cinema, play video games which often include crime and violence and whilst we are disturbed seeing wars and cruelty we continue to invite it into our homes on our screens and be entertained by it.
Do we realise, however, that the “whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one” (1 John 5:19 and 2 Corinthians 4:4) and why there is so much wickedness and it’s increasing.
‘Satan’ is mentioned in the Bible 52 times and ‘Devil’ 33 times and demons are also a produce of his evil acts. When Jesus was on the earth he himself was tested by Satan (Matthew 4:1-11) but Jesus remained loyal under test to his father who is the Sovereign of the universe. Jesus is now reigning as King in heaven over a government that will ultimately also, very shortly, benefit the earth too. Jesus will destroy Satan and his demons and restore peace and security in the world (See 1 John 3:8 and Hebrews 2:14) and obedient mankind will again enjoy a life free of sickness and death and our planet will be restored to a paradise where there will be no extremes of weather and the animals will be safe too. That might seem to be “too good to be true” but it is a promise from an extremely patient God who does not lie (Titus 1:2). Until this happens things will just go from bad to worse and God and his son has to step in soon to save mankind and our beautiful planet – see Revelation 21:3,4 for how it’s going to be.
We have so little time to just stop these days – the pace of life is relentless but the Bible and its principles and wisdom tells us about the “real life” which will be free of stress, depression, loneliness, families breaking down, corruption, economic concerns.
