The Black Hole was a film I watched with my Grandfather on release in 1979 in a small cinema in Carmarthen in West Wales. I was only 10 at the time, and this film had a profound effect on me. Maybe it was the robots, the massive spaceships or the stirring musical soundtrack by John Barry — or maybe I was a little too young to appreciate Star Wars when released and this was the then next best thing. There was, to our knowledge, only one game produced for the film and it was on the TRS-80 and we cover this inside — there was also a plethora of merchandise and we look at some of the specific toys that accompanied the movie.

So Fusion has now officially gone monthly — with issue 13, this is the start of a new era. In other news, the Fusion Annual 2021 has just gone to print and I will soon be sorting out Fusion binders for the many backers of the Kickstarter (including a limited run with the ‘SPECIALS’ wording on the side to keep the existing Fusion ZX, Fusion Amiga, Fusion C64 and Fusion CPC safe). Of course, there are other special issues inbound with Fusion Resident Evil and Fusion Dizzy just around the corner — the ‘special’ binder will be filling up very quickly.

I hope you are well and safe in this still somewhat difficult time. It does feel on occasions we are turning a corner and its good to know that the Fusion magazine has kept you company in lockdown and I just want to say thanks for sticking with us.
