Match Day II doesn't really improve much on the original. It has a realistic ‘deflection' system, but still no headers or slide tackles, and players still trudge lethargically around the pitch. Jon Ritman fans will be crying salty tears of disappointment here as the pacey Italy 1990 runs rings around Match Day II’s sluggish dinosaurs, handing it a hefty defeat.
