Lawn stowaways

Our lawn is full of little millipedes. Could they have been brought in with the bagged mulch we put on recently?

Millipedes eat plant material and compost so it’s possible they came in with the mulch. However, they’re unlikely to do any harm. They’re more active when it rains because they need moisture to survive and will hide in dry weather.
