If you find a hedgehog and are concerned about its welfare, the best advice is to put it in a large, stout cardboard box, with a towel on the base of the box. Close the lid, put it somewhere quiet indoors, and then ring the British Hedgehog Preservation Society on 01584 890801, who will be able to give you further advice and the numbers of local contacts.
