Plant blowsy beauties for BORDER CHIC

Mophead hydrangeas and dusky pink sedums make an elegant autumn combination. Create the look in three easy steps

-

For anyone who’s had their fill of fiery colours in autumn, there is another way. You can shift the planting palette into cooler, lighter realms with clouds of creamy white hydrangeas and a ribbon of purple-pink sedum. Hydrangea arborescens ‘Annabelle’ is one of those plants that pulls everyone under its spell. Its enormous globes of white bracts are impossible to pass without a friendly pat and as daylight hours fall they fade to a delicious lime green. Thread deep pink upright hylotelephium (sedum) ‘Matrona’ around its skirts and they look like clouds above a wine-bruised sky.
