Mix asters, anemones and chrysanthemums for this eye-catching autumn display
November isn’t just about fiery foliage – there are pastel pink treats to be enjoyed too. These delicate-looking pink beauties keep going to the first frosts in a mild autumn, putting on a fabulously upbeat show. Here we’ve plumped for aster ‘Patricia Ballard’ for its eye-catching semi-double flowers, Japanese anemone ‘Königin Charlotte’ and soft pink chrysanthemum ‘Breitner Dark’. Upright grasses add a statuesque backdrop: the silky flowers of miscanthus ‘Malepartus’ have a pink autumn tint, too. Nearby Cotinus coggygria ‘Royal Purple’ also chimes in on the warm notes, with pink summer flowers followed by rich burgundy foliage.
