FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY

At last our five-year-old Echinopsis denudata has finally flowered in the greenhouse. We knew the bud would only open for one night, so we got up at midnight to watch the beautiful bloom unfurl and savour its perfume. By next morning it had started to die.
