REJUVENATE YOUR OLD WISTERIA
If you’ve inherited an old wisteria in a new garden or you haven’t got round to pruning yours for a while, now’s a great time to give this beautiful climber a new lease of life. You’ll reap the rewards in spring!
REMOVE WOODY STEMS
Start by removing old, woody stems using loppers or a pruning saw, depending on the thickness of the stems.
PRUNE OUT WAYWARD SHOOTS
Prune back any stems that are extending in front of windows, up into the eaves or that are growing outwards, away from the support.
TIE IN GROWTH
Check over the support structure and carry out any maintenance required before tying in growth that you want to keep.
