3. GET THE RIGHT HOLE SIZE

Too large a hole and a small bird will fear that a larger bird could come along and boot it out. Blue tits like a hole of 25mm across; great tits prefer 28mm, house sparrows need 32mm, and for starlings it’s a whopping 45mm. Robins and wrens prefer open-fronted boxes, but wrens sometimes use tit boxes.
