Q How can I persuade my tree peony to flower?

APaeonia delavayi lutea, the wild yellow tree peony, is a large, rather gawky-looking shrub with big leaves and relatively small yellow flowers in spring. If you cut it back hard, it will regrow but you’ll have to wait even longer for flowers, so it’s best to let it grow naturally and it should flower soon.
