Q What caused American fuchsia to flower late?

Garden Answers (UK) - - Problems Solved - R D BALL, KENT

ALarge-f lowered fuchsias don’t flower as freely as the smaller-flowered ones, and they sometimes bloom later. Pinching out the growing tips also delays flowering, as does hot summer weather. Protect the plants over winter and you’ll start the season with larger, more productive plants that should flower earlier.
