Q Why didn’t my honeysuckle’s buds open?

AHoneysuckles prefer a slightly shaded spot. If they’re in a hot, dry border or against a sunny wall they’re vulnerable to aphids, which congregate on the flower buds and suck out all the moisture. In the hot summer of last year this is most likely the reason the buds didn’t develop properly.
