Common snowdrop Galanthus nivalis brings cheer to all in winter with its elegant single flowers. Plant them under deciduous trees or shrubs, or naturalise them in the lawn for a picturesque display from Jan-Feb.

These prize plants will be delivered ‘in the green’ in spring (after flowering). Get the bulbs in the soil promptly so they don’t dry out. If the soil is frozen, just pop them in a pot of compost and water them. H12.5cm (10in).
