Top Tips
1 Scarify: With a spring tine rake, rake off all the mossy thatch and other claggy plant debris that has built up to neaten and freshen it.
2 Aerate: Using a hollow tine aerator for best results, pierce the soil at regular intervals, removing the soil plugs and top dress with sandy soil.
3 Repair fungal damage:
Reduce red thread by aerating. Counter fairy rings by spiking, watering and feeding lawns.
4 Correct bumps and gaps:
Slice open bumpy areas of lawn to remove soil and level as needed, watering in well. Brush sandy loam into gaps.
