An es­tab­lished bed can be cut for be­tween six and eight weeks. In warmer ar­eas, this is typ­i­cally from early April but this year the sea­son is later due to cold weather. If not al­ready done, mulch with 10cm (4in) of well-rot­ted ma­nure or gar­den com­post.
