Improve every area
Most gardens have a spot that isn’t as pretty as the rest – maybe where the bins stand, or the compost heap or water butt. Maybe it’s just that the view over the fence isn’t ideal. Whatever it is that needs addressing, we’ve got the answer in our feature on page 14 – sometimes a small addition can make a big difference! At the moment I’m rather preoccupied by red lily beetles, which in just two days covered two pots of lilies with their larvae, which in turn decimated the foliage. There are a couple of chemical options but otherwise it’s a case of hand-picking the larvae, though our expert Ian Hodgson assures me the flowers should still be fine. Have a great gardening week!
