FREE CHRISTMAS TREE WITH EVERY ORDE R!
Planting a tree is one of the best things you can do in the garden – not only do they provide a wonderful focal point that’ll give you year-round interest, but they’re also a boon for wildlife and will improve your garden’s ecosystem immeasurably.
Now’s the ideal time to plant them, too – with the soil still warm and moist, even more so after the weather we’ve had this year. Getting them in now gives the roots time to establish; even though above ground the tree is dormant it’ll be ready to flourish in spring.
Planting is straightforward. Cultivate the area thoroughly and dig a hole at least twice the width of the rootball. Backfill the soil and firm it in, and stake your tree if it has been container-grown rather than bare-root. Next week: We’ve got some special Christmas gifts for you.
