1 To make it easier to bury organic ma er, take out a trench the width and depth of a spade and put the soil in a barrow. 2 If you want to add organic ma er to improve the soil, add garden compost or well-ro ed manure to the trench. 3 Dig the next row by turning the soil over onto the manure. This then creates a new trench to add organic ma er to. 4 Once you get to the end of the plot you should end up with a trench, which is filled with soil in the barrow.
