GIVE WATERING CANS A CLEAN
Over a season it’s surprising just how dirty the inside of a watering can gets and very often a build-up of green algae will develop. This is often worse on galvanised cans as the surface isn’t as smooth as plastic. Using water from a butt can also lead to more algae inside your cans. The problem is easily resolved though by using a cleaning fluid sprayed inside the can and left for a while, before thoroughly rinsing out with clean, warm water to leave the inside of the can sparkling. And don’t forget to wash the rose attachment, too.
