Insulate agapanthus
Even the hardier agapanthus are susceptible to frost damage, unless they’re grown in a sunny, sheltered spot in warm areas. To play safe it’s essential they’re protected from frost. For containergrown agapanthus, just insulate the container in fleece or overwinter in a cold glasshouse or shed. If it’s an evergreen, make sure they get a bit of light. A thick layer of mulch, such as bark or straw, insulates the roots of agapanthus in the ground. Even if the leaves get damaged by frost, the roots will be well protected.
