The first sowing is under way

-

For an hour in the festive period I sneaked off to the greenhouse to make my first sowing for the new season! Armed with a glass of ‘amber nectar’ and my packets of Robinson’s white and red ‘Mammoth’ onions, my sowing regime begins. Filling two half trays with John Innes No 1, the seeds are sprinkled on the surface and covered lightly with some of the same compost, then lightly watered. These are kept at approximately 13C (55F) and should appear in about two weeks. What joy. Happy New Year to you all!
