Flower shows
■ You’ll sometimes find nurseries exhibiting at flower shows offering seeds as well as plants. Avon Bulbs (www.avonbulbs.co.uk) has expanded its seed range in recent years, partly because it cannot sell bulbs at Chelsea, and its offering is always worth a look.
■ Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants (www.hardysplants.co.uk) also now offers seeds, mainly of annuals and perennials, to complement its impressive range of perennial plants.
■ Look out too for society exhibits at shows, as they sometimes also offer seeds.
