Look after hardy fuchsias
The stems may lose their leaves, but hardy fuchsias can cope with winter chill. Even some of the most delicate-looking fuchsias, such as dainty ‘Hawkshead’, will burst into life again as soon as spring warms up the soil. Give them the best chance of survival by protecting the plants’ crown from cold and wet – use a dry mulch, leaves or even a layer of fleece to protect the plant from waterlogging and freezing cold.
