START PEA SHOOTS
Pea shoots are crunchy and delicious in salads, sandwiches or as garnishes, plus they’re very nutritious and easy to grow. If you want to harvest them all year round, sow them now in a greenhouse, cold frame, polytunnel or inside on a south-facing windowsill. First you can soak your seeds in tepid water overnight to give them a quicker start. Fill pots with seed compost and sow the seeds 1cm (¼in) deep, cover with compost and water in well. Pick when leafy and about 4cm (1½in) high.
