Treat fences
Temperatures may be falling but dry winter days are ideal for inspecting boundary fences and doing a bit of seasonal maintenance. Wooden fences take a ba ering over autumn and winter so a lick of wood preserver or timber paint brushed on now keeps the wood from ro ing and helps make the whole garden look tidy. Paint with a wide bristle brush to work the liquid well into the grain and pay special a ention to any exposed bare wood, coating it thoroughly.
