I’ve started sowing already!

I do try to be patient but the urge to sow always gets the be er of me. My home greenhouse is heated so I have the advantage of a gamble on some early crops. This time it’s the turn of le uce and cabbage to be sown. I’m sowing ‘Li le Gem’ le uce and ‘Kilazol’ cabbage.

Normally these two crops are sown in small amounts in compartmental trays, but this first sowing is sown in good compost in half seed trays. Many of my fellow allotmenteers don’t have heated greenhouses so I’m always popular when I have the first early seedlings to share with them!
