TAYBERRIES

-

If you’ve got the hang of growing raspberries, make room for this cross between a loganberry and a black raspberry. It bears its large (up to 5cm/2in long), mouth-watering fruits on long stems, which are best trained to 1.8m (6ft) tall posts with horizontal wires or on a sunny wall with wires stretched along it. Stems are thornless, making tying them in nice and easy. Ready to pick in July and August, the fruits are ready when they’ve developed their trademark purple colouring. Grow in rich soil that drains well, mulched with plenty of organic ma er in spring.
