Rambling roses are tremendous plants for creating a spectacular summer scene in the garden for little effort, especially if a healthy one is chosen. Ramblers tend to be more vigorous than climbers, with small flowers displayed in clusters and established plants giving wisterias a run for their money in the ‘picture-perfect chocolate box’ stakes! The lemon-yellow, double rosettes of ‘Malvern Hills’ are a treat all summer and growing this very healthy rose is an easy way to clothe an arch or pergola without any intensive maintenance. Just tie in loose stems as they grow. It can reach up to 4.5m (15ft) tall.
