CUT DOWN PERENNIALS

While you should have left sturdy, erect herbaceous perennial plant debris over winter to provide form and stature as well as homes for beneficial insects, most, if not all, your deciduous border plants will be looking decidedly soggy and forlorn by now, especially after the winter weather has taken its toll. Take time to cut it all down now and get an idea of what’s underneath trying to get a look in and neaten everything up ready for spring.
