Euphorbia martini

-

A tremendous choice for a pot in sun or semi-shade, the new shoots of this euphorbia gently hang from the tops of the stems, showing off gorgeous, perky shades of pink and rusty red that glow when caught by low sun and add a colourful warmth to the garden. This is a very neat and compact plant, growing to around 40cm (1¼ft) tall and showing off lime-green flowerheads with maroon ‘eyes’ in spring.

Also look out for the variegated form called ‘Ascot Rainbow’. Bolder and brasher, growing to 1m (3¼ft) tall, with custard-yellow margins to the leaves and hot pink new shoots right now, it’s something of a ‘Marmite’ plant that you’ll either want to give pride of place on the patio or vow never to have in your garden! Certainly something to give the last few weeks of winter an exciting lift! Grow it in full sun.
