Over the FENCE

-

The garden’s had a bit of a tidy. Straggly cosmos has been chopped down, as has sedum because its basal buds are rapidly emerging. I came across a pack of ‘Red Riding Hood’ tulips that I’d overlooked when planting my spring bulbs so I planted them hastily in the hope they’ll still flower! Indoors, having thought my amaryllis had given up, I’ve now been rewarded with beautiful blooms. A couple of hours of snowfall and branches were suddenly heavily laden, causing a ceanothus to topple. It reminded me to gently shake snow off branches to avoid breakages. The ceanothus is suitably propped up and will be pruned back when the time is right.
