BUILD AN EASY COMPOST HEAP

-

If need a new prefer recycling rather than buying new, it couldn’t be easier to create your own. Four reclaimed pallets, some stakes, all you need. If you need to keep rats out of a closed heap, on bare ground lay chicken – this will form the bottom of your heap and keep them out. Stand up three of the pallets and secure them to the ground by driving in stakes hammered in through the pallets’ holes, into the soil. Either halve the fourth pallet to give easy access to the heap, or attach it to the other three with a hinge like a gate. Now you can start collecting plant prunings and grass clippings straight away.
