PROTECT PEACHES FROM INFECTION
Take preventative steps to protect wall-grown peach trees from developing peach leaf curl. As the name suggests, it causes leaves to curl, distort, go brown-red in patches and develop white fungal blooms. Fungicides used to spray your peach tree for protection have been discontinued, so consider using a more environmentally-friendly control, such as a sheltered lean-to, to keep the rain off. This will stop spores germinating in wet conditions and keep the plant dry. A wooden screen fastened with plastic sheeting is also an effective solution. Ensure the sides are open so insects can still get in for pollination once blooming.
