Sow alpine strawberries
Alpine strawberries will give you a plentiful harvest and, as everbearers, will fruit until the first frosts. They need a period of cold before starting into growth so keep them in the freezer for around three weeks before sowing. Sow in trays filled with moist seed compost, then sprinkle the seeds evenly onto the surface – don’t cover them as they need light to germinate. Placing the tray on a capillary ma ing will help to keep it evenly moist. Leave in a warm place like a greenhouse.
