Potential silver lining
Your article ‘Brexit Backlash’ in the January 30 issue of Garden News is worrying. Surely there is also a good side to these changes. Here in Northern Ireland we still have full access to plants from southern Ireland and the rest of Europe, as before. For the rest of the UK, the decline in European plant imports will provide an opportunity for
British nurseries to fill the gap. At the same time, the risk of introducing plant diseases from the continent and the carbon footprint of transporting plants will be greatly reduced.
