POTATO PASTIME

If your garden club members are all stuck at home again, in the last lockdown I suggested a potato in a bucket competition, which I’d seen at another club show. Members were given a plastic bucket with pre-drilled drainage holes and a seed potato, plus an entry number. The potatoes were maincrop and issued at the beginning of April. Members chose their own growing medium, feeding and growing regime. The response was great and we will run it again this year. It gives members something to aim at.
