New tree to make its debut at spring show
HILLIER DEBUTS AT BEAULIEU SHOW WITH ‘ETERNAL FLAME’
Anew multi-coloured cercis tree will be showcased by Hillier in its stunning demonstration garden at the new Gardeners’ World Spring Fair.
The show will be launched in the grounds of Beaulieu, Hampshire, at the end of this month.
The headline ‘Hillier Experience’ garden will take visitors on a journey from dawn to dusk. Featuring prominently will be the first public showing of Judas tree Cercis canadensis ‘Eternal Flame’, with glossy red leaves that gradually shade through orange and yellow tones as the season progresses. The four-section exhibit starts with the morning garden, which awakens the senses with plants in shades of bright green and yellow, also including fragrant herbs and vegetables.
The afternoon garden in pastel tones, evokes memories of sunny summer days, with afternoon tea surrounded by scented plants and herbaceous borders.
Rich sunset tones and rustic orange with twinkling lights and heady scents depict the evening garden, with the final area combining dark foliage with pops of colour to create the relaxing ambience of the night garden.
Hillier has agreed a threeyear partnership with the event organisers. Other features include Beautiful Border exhibits, more than 16 nurseries selling plants, three days of talks and demonstrations and a food market. BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair runs from May 28-30.
